CloseD

Who can take part in the CloseD competitions?

All Dutch and German dancers with a D-/ C-class competition license (including Breitensportkarte) and dancers of the Norwegian Konkurranseklass are obliged to participate in the CloseD competition.

Formation dancers outside Germany as well as German formation dancers lower than the 2. Bundesliga (i.e. Regionalliga, Oberliga, Landesliga) are obliged to participate in the CloseD class. If formation dancers have a current individual competition licence, this class is crucial for the classification.

Dancers who have danced at least three times in the Champions final during the last five ETDS are obliged to participate in the CloseD class.

D-, C-class or Konkurranseklass dancers in one discipline are allowed to participate in the Breitensport competition in the other discipline, if they don't have a tournament licence there.

Dancers who were inactive for at least 3 years in both disciplines will be rated one class below their highest achieved class. This would make a former D-class dancer eligible for the Breitensport competition under circumstances. However, if they dance Breitensport, they are not allowed to dance with a partner with whom they have or had a competition licence or a member of their university.

Blind dating is mandatory for all CloseD dancers.

Blind dating means: You are not allowed to start at the ETDS with your regular tournament partner or with a partner from your own team.

If there is any uncertainty which class is the right one for you, have a look at the document "Classification details".
